Poetry: Abstract poems

Chronic debris on my fingertips
Perpetually
Taunting my memory
And rational mind.
And I, wanting nothing more than to touch you
To smother you in purple and yellow petals
And cover your fear with a blanket
That is my arms and and my lips and my love

But to do so ignites in me a fear of something
That is too insidious to control
And I am afraid of myself for you,
Of my power due to its power over me
Because you are so fragile
And innocent
And I so tainted and metamorphisized
But still so taken by you.

Grown and affected, we roll in your pastures and with each kiss new flower blooms and the soft blades of grass tickle our necks and remind us why there is not reason to give up.

And so I prolong my departure
And roll with the days as they pass
My emotions holding me hostage
Dedication keeping me naked and daring

Chronic debris on my fingertips
Perpetually
And how many times can I
Touch you before you start to see it?
