I do not know God personally. I am still searching for it. However, I do think that prayers do work. Since young, I was taught to pray. Though I have no real idea who Ogd really is, I still pray. I pray to Jesus, to the saints, for wisdom, for peace, for family bliss, for health of my parents and my studies. It does work in one way or another.
However, that does not mean that there were no problems or difficulties in my life. Praying is asking for assistance but on my own part I do my part to help myself. There was a time where I stop praying due to difficulties and all the problems that arise in life - my marriage, my work, pregnancy and so on. And during those time, my husband left me too. I am devastated and do not know what to do. No friends, no one to help, do not know who to trust, it is only natural that I started to ask God for help again. I started praying again and in the end, my husband come back again. But that does not mean I prayed and I got instant results. It took time for 'miracles' to happen.
Ever since I stopped work, and my husband is not working as well. My saving account was depleting and I was miserable. I need to do housework, look after children and the family. If I go to work, no one can do my work. I pray to God, to assist me and guide me. I do not know if I ever 'hear' God. But sometimes everything just come instinctively and certain opportunities just come at the right time when I needed help most.
I follow by heart. That is how God guide me along too, I suppose. Till now, I am still learning to get 'in touch' with God. All I could say is Prayers Do Work.
