Extensions are small programs that add to the usability of Mozilla Firefox, which is one of the reasons Firefox is becoming a popular web browser. The add-on extensions can range from tools to make browsing easier, to pop-up blockers, and even checking the local weather in your area. Firefox extensions can be found here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/
Here are but a few that I use daily:
1) Ad-Block Plus. Firefox already has built in pop-up blockers but this adds to it greatly. Updates for this extension are automatic.
2) Fasterfox: This extension tweaks Firefox and adds great speed to your browsing.
3) Forecastfox: With this one, you can check your local weather! This extension just asks you to input your zip code and you can place the weather report icons anywhere on your browser window. Forecastfox also give you the forecast for the next two days as well as your local radar and weather warnings about inclement weather.
4) VideoDownloader: This extension allows you to download the imbedded videos from Youtube, Google, Myspace and many more!
5) Greasemonkey: Greasemonkey is an add-on extension that lets you create and find scripts, which are small programs, to perform tasks easier. These scripts add even more to Firefox's extensions capability.
