Over many years I have tried many many different body lotions with varying success. What I want from a body lotion is a lotion that smells great, leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth and which absorbs quickly and doesn't leave sticky greasy marks on my clothes or bed sheets. Finally I think I have found that product. It is Clarins Relaxing Body Balm.

I am a big fan of Clarins products; they are gentle on my skin, smell fantastic and are very luxurious. The relaxing body balm is part of the Aroma-Care Clarins products. It is a thick white cream which is quickly absorbed in to my skin and does not feel at all greasy. After applying my skin feels softer and smoother and wonderfully scented. Clarins lists the beauty benefits of this Body Balm as : Protects, moisturizes and nourishes the skin, smoothes and softens the skin, soothes and relaxes after exercise and promotes total well-being.

I have to mention here about the scent, it smells wonderful. It reminds me of the massages I have had at the Clarins studio, when you enter the room you smell this wonderful aroma. So just smelling this cream makes me feel relaxed because I remember my wonderful massages. There is a combination of so many different aromatherapy essential oils which I will describe below.

The body lotion is made from a combination of essential oils. There is Apple Seed Oil which protects, hydrates and nourishes. Bitter Orange or Petit Grain which revitalizes, is fragrant, and soothes Basil which is said to relieve nervous disorders Chamomile used for its anti-inflammatory and soothing action. Geranium soothing, has an astringent action on skin and a pleasant fragrance Linseed useful in relieving inflammation.
Sweet Almond used to moisturise and smooth skin.

The product comes in a tube rather than a bottle. It is a turquoise-blue colour and is slightly opaque so you can see how much cream is left in the tube. It has a white flip open cap at the bottle which is flat so the bottle stands on its end, useful to make it look tidy in your bathroom. The white cap has a gold band just making it look that bit more classy. The writing is in French and below the translation in English (the product is made in France). The instructions say to apply after a bath or shower.

The thick cream absorbs quickly into your skin and your skin feels immediately softer and smoother and also smells fantastic. For the purpose of this research I applied some cream onto my left hand about an hour ago and have just asked my husband
