YOUR VOICE
Breathlessly,
I wait to hear the sound of your voice
In the morning.
Its familiar timbre wraps around me
Like a beautiful melody;
It makes me smile with that magical tone
That can be soft and loving in a whisper,
Droll in a humorous moment,
Passionate during lovemaking,
And convincing with a lesson.
Your voice is extraordinary.
It starts my day off brightly,
By putting music in my heart and step.
It infuses me with joy at its unexpected appearance
Around a corner, or in a corridor;
For you will soon follow.
Your voice comforts me when I'm sad.
And from across the miles
Its beauty resounds in my memory
Making loneliness bearable.
If I could write a song whose melody could express
All the wonder and joy of life itself,
It would sound like your voice.

I choke on my past
turn and desperately look to the future
a blank void
a sea of nothingness.
No hints
These voices in my head, telling me to do things that are not me.
These voices in my head are confusing.
Should I listen to
