The difference between a good restaurant and a bad one

Regardless of whether you prefer Mexican or Indian, or Italian or Chinese, or French or Thai, a good restaurant is characterized by the following qualities:

A Warm Greeting - Does the host or hostess greet you in a friendly, welcoming manner? A good restaurant makes its customers feel special. If your host or hostess is not attentive and welcoming, then you ought to consider eating at another establishment.

Cleanliness - A good restaurant is a CLEAN restaurant. As a patron, you are not given an opportunity to inspect the kitchen, but you can determine a restaurant's cleanliness by observing the utensils and napkins. They ought to be immaculate. What about the table, chairs and floors of the restaurant? They should also be spotless. If any of the aforementioned items are not clean, you have good reason to believe that your food may be contaminated.

Freshness - A good restaurant serves FRESH food. What's the point of dining out if the food comes out of a can? All your food needs to be fresh - from the bread sticks to the final course. If the food isn't fresh, you are NOT in a good restaurant.

Excellent waiters/waitresses - A good restaurant ensures that its wait staff if of the highest quality in terms of customer service. Your waiter or waiter needs to be cheerful, friendly and attentive. Rude or discourteous behavior and a bad attitude is unacceptable.

Eating out ought to be a pleasant and enjoyable experience. A good restaurant provides you with excellent food, a clean environment and first-rate customer service. You ought to be greeted warmly, served by an attentive waiter or waitress and be provided with high-quality, fresh food. These are the hallmarks of a good restaurant. Enjoy!
