Every person that you meet in your life can have a profound effect on
you. They can leave a good, or a bad impression. Those impressions are
shaped into a defense mechanism that helps us to discern the intentions
of each new individual we meet. For example I remember a man; he was
the friendliest person you could ever meet. He was very helpful and very
funny. This likable personality he possessed was only a tool to gain
your confidence. One of the things he used to say was, I see you need a
little help and I've come to help you out. This was only a veil to cover
up what he really meant. He saw an opportunity in my distress to help
me out of something he wanted. It was my money, and I gave it to him
willingly, thinking that I was getting something that would help me. The
ability to overshadow has always been the tool of the Con man. Since I
have experienced this for myself, I now have a built in discernment for
people who try to help me out. This deception is also found in th!
e preaching of the Gospel, as did the Apostles reveal in their day,
and shall be revealed in yours.
2 Corinthians 11:12-15 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut
off occasion from them who desire occasion; that when they glory, they
may be found even as we. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers,
transforming themselves into the Apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for
Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is
no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of
righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
There is a veil that is over the eyes of many in the church which is
bringing a curse upon all who are deceived by it. Today so many are in
desperate need of finances. Every way you turn there is someone with
their hand out to take your money away. In the day Jesus walked the earth
it was not any different. Jesus and all of Israel were in bondage to
Roman rule and taxation. Also they were bound by the law to pay tithe and
offerings to the temple along with the temple tax, which was for the
upkeep and needs of the temple. By law there was only six days for a man
to work, one day was for food and raiment, one was for rent on land and
home, two days were for tax to Rome and two days went for tithe and
offerings. This did not include temple tax or taxation by the publicans
who waited by the gates to tax everyone on goods brought in and out of
the city. If you take for instance an income of six hundred dollars a
week
