Reflections: Wildlife

Reflections on wildlife. There are many stories I could tell about, from my own back-yard across the years, or visiting through many states.

This is the story that comes to mind. My husband had been visiting some people, and
somehow a mother deer had become separated from her new-born baby. Not knowing what to do about the fawn, the people told my husband he could take it.

Knowing he couldn't drive and hold the little deer, my husband came home for my children and myself. He explained what had happened, so we all got into the car and away we went.

Upon getting to the place where the fawn was, my husband talked to the people and picked up the fawn. At this point, I expected him to put the little creature into a box or something.

Our children were in the backseat, and I was wondering where he would put it. All of
a sudden he walked up to my side of the car, opened the door and said, "Here".

He put the fawn into my lap, in my amazement. The baby curled up in my lap, snuggled tightly, and went to sleep. He was given to some friends.
