If you have a standard insurance either from AIA Singapore(I hold this policy) or HSBC, then they do cover Emergency Dental treatments as a result of accidents.
Well there are couple of requirements :
1. Treatment must be sought within 24 hrs of accident. If not then a valid reason must be provided for the same.
2.You cannot go for treatments overseas..
HSBC also has a Group insurance policy which covers dental treatments. This coverage is available worldwide.
If you are a Expat in Singapore, then most likely you will be fully covered for dental treatments. Your spouse and children will also be given partial coverage. This should be done by your employer, check with them.
Apart from this, the reason why most insurances do not cover the normal dental treatments (which are not due to accidents) is that, the cost of dental care in Singapore is not very expensive. You can get a simple treatment such as filling, extraction or scaling at government dental clinics for S$15.00 to S$60.00. Further subsidies are available for students and Senior Citizens.
Hope this helps!.
