Favorite movie lines

So many favourites but where to start?. These really consist of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. My all time favourite has to be 'Frankly my dear I don't give a damn' casually spoken by Clark Gable, as Rhett Butler to Miss Scarlett. Of course, then there has to be Miss Scarlett's well "Tomorrow IS another day"

For me many memorable lines seem to come from the old, and often black and white movies. "Play it again Sam" from Casablanca springs to mind as an all time classic. Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall are also responsible for the classic description of whistling. "You know how to whistle don't you? You just put you lips together and blow" Oh the underlying passion and their screen sexual chemistry shining through for all to see. The Ealing Comedy, Kind Hearts and Coronets, line about a churchmen 'Speaking interminable nonsense' has worked it's way into my everyday phraseology.

Onto slightly more modern movies, but only just, John Wayne in True Grit has some classics, such as "Mr. Rat, I got a writ here says you're to stop eatin' Chen Lee's cornmeal forthwith. Now it's a rat writ, writ for a rat, and this is lawful service of same." This said to a rat before he blows it's head off. My favourite one liner in this film though is, and is probably misquoted by me, "Fill your hands you son of a bitch"

Star Treks "To boldly go where no man has been before" line always cracks me up as there is always someone there, wherever they go.

Britain's the Full Monty a film about unemployed Steel workers in Sheffield has many classics. A fave of mine is 'Anti-wrinkle cream there maybe, but anti-fat bas-d cream there is not' spoken by the chubby one of the prospective male strippers. Shirley Valentine going on the "F plan diet-sex for breakfast, dinner and supper" is hilarious . Likewise are her observations on sex and it's comparison to supermarket shopping- "Sex is like Sainsbury's-a lot of pushing and shoving and you still come out with very little"

These are among my favourites but really I would need a top one hundred. So bye for now and 'Here's looking at you kid'
