Advice on emergency preparedness

So I find myself Memorial Day weekend- after all the dust had settled, out in Colorado having to deal with family business- having rushed out here from STL just a few days before when, while getting gas, a no-more-than 17 year old starts to yell at me for apparently looking in his general direction. The kid weighed no more than 155 lbs soaking wet, so I ignored him and continued filling up. This apparently was a worse offense than the previous because he opened his door to get out. At this point myself and my cousin could not help from laughing out loud at the lil' tyke since, in his haste he forgot to or outright just did not care to take off his seat belt before exiting the vehicle; subsequently forcing him to kick and scream in desperation. He finally unfastened himself, but before he could take a step away from the car an older, mildly amused pedestrian managed with a casual stroll over and blatantly sandwiched himself squarely in front of the unfolding temper-tantrum. Pausing for just a brief moment he then went into what looked like a previously practiced stance, following immediately with a poorly executed Karate pose. Like bad 70's karate movie pose. He drunkenly screamed at the top of his lungs "I have a black belt in CRAZY!" proceeded by a karate chop and a sloppy bow. He then turned and briskly marched back into the night. Every single person stood motionless having been stunned into silence for at least ten seconds. My cousin broke the silence with her laughter and soon everyone witness to the random drunken declaration followed suit. The kid slid silently back in the car forgetting whatever it was that triggered his tirade.
The random story, seemingly more and more likely to become the underlining premise for a summer for the books...
