When You Need A Rest at Disney World's Magic Kingdom!
Here are seven places you can go when the day has gotten too hot or tiring to take a break and recharge your energy! We have been visiting Disney World since our teenagers were babies and these seven places are still among the favorites when we just need a break.
At the top of the list of favorites is the Tomorrowland Transit Authority ride, or as it is called in our house, the People Mover. Ride this around Tomorrowland and through rides such as Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. Most of the time, there isn't a line, it is away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the more popular rides and you can see much of the Magic Kingdom while riding. This became a favorite with my youngest when she was too small to go on Space Mountain. It is now a tradition every time we are in Disney World.
Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress is also in Tomorrowland. If you are trying to beat the heat and need a little diversion, this is a wonderful attraction indoors with air conditioning. This audio animatronics attraction was first seen at the 1964 World's Fair in New York and has been popular ever since. The twenty minutes showing could be too long for very small children but very enjoyable for everybody else. The Carousel of Progress sometimes closes during the slow season.
The Walt Disney Railroad is another ride you can take when you are getting weary of walking or waiting in line. There may be lines at peak hours and seasons but it is still a great way to get away from the most crowded spots in the Magic Kingdom. You can board the train at Main Street, U.S.A, Mickey's Toontown Fair and Frontierland. The train ride circles the Magic Kingdom for a twenty-minute journey where you can rest your legs and enjoy the ride. It is also a great way to get back to the park entrance when you want to go home and don't want to walk back through the park. Just board it at Toontown or Frontierland and get off at the Main Street, U.S.A. station.
Donald's Boat and Playground in Toontown is perfect for youngsters! It is a playground that includes an interactive boat with a leaky fountain! Youngsters can play on the playground while parents can sit, watch and rest. If you plan ahead, bring bathing suits and towels for the kids to play at Donald's Boat that leaks water from the fountain to cool them off. If you don't want to get wet just watch out for
