There once was a time when divorce was unheard of...in this day and age of free speech, free everything, it seems we have all turned the tables on honor, commitment, dedication, you name it. Granted, I'm all for divorce if the relationship is one of physical, mental, or sexual abuse. But there are too many people out there who get divorced over the most trivial things.
Prenuptial agreements are not just about money. They can be about anything: property, "rules", whatever. It should be as common as preparing a will before death.
Having a prenup may encourage people to figure out ways to work out their differences before rushing off to divorce court. Like any other legally binding document, a prenuptial agreement would be entered into by two consenting adults who were fully aware of the ramifications and rewards for both good and bad behavior. Likewise, a prenuptial agreement would protect those out there who are being scammed by "love" artists. Mandatory prenuptial agreements would not only discourage, but also eventually stop, marital scams, thereby automatically reducing divorce rates.
