tape plays that says, "I almost became successful but not quite as successful as I once thought I would be or could have been." Our DNA (ego/personality) locks us into not feeling deserving of manifesting our Divine Ideal so instead we create Artificial Life Sweeteners or substitutes by way of addictions, pacification and self-medication to temporarily quench the thirst of the Divine Urge.
Dr. Joseph Despensa, featured in the movie, What the Bleep Do We Know had this to say about addictions:
"My definition of an addiction is something really simple, something you can't stop. We bring to ourselves situations that will fulfill the biochemical craving of the cells of our body by creating situations that meet our chemical needs.
An addict will always need a little bit more in order to get a rush or a high that they are looking for chemically. So my definition really means that if you can't control your emotional state then you must be addicted to it.
So you ask if emotions are bad. Emotions are not bad, they're right. They color the richness of our experience. It's our addiction that is the problem. The thing that most don't realize is that when they understand that they are addicted to emotions, its not just psychological, its biochemical. Think about this, heroin uses the same receptor mechanisms on the cells that our emotional chemicals use. It's easy to see then that if we can be addicted to heroin then we can be addicted to any neuropeptide any emotion."
All addictions are merely a radical mis-manifestation or byproduct of from our Divine attempting to push through us and express its highest idea as us regardless of how the DNA filter finally expresses it. Our Divinity must find and manifest expression through us!
Think about it; do you know anyone who as a child ran up to their mother or father and said, "Hey mom, hey dad; when I grow up I want to become a drug addict? I want to live a less than average life? I want to become an alcoholic? I want to be in chronic debt? I want to become a philanderer and never know what's its like to abide in a true relationship?"
Facetiously, none of us start out with these goals but many of us end up asking ourselves, "What happened?" "Where did I go wrong?" "How can I turn back the hands of time?" So, the action to take now is to take a good look at your life and ask yourself, "what would I like to accomplish that got filtered through my DNA (ego/personality) that I would now like my DEITY self to help me manifest?"
Are you willing to get out of your own way to express the Divine Idea that lives within you?
"If you bring forth what is inside of you, what you bring forth will save you. If you don't bring forth what is inside you, what you bring forth will destroy you." - Jesus of Nazareth
How have you expressed your Divine Urge? How would you like to express your Divine Urge? How have you cloaked your Divine Urge? What immediate steps can you take to begin manifesting a new reality that embodies the fullness of your Divinity?
