I believe it would be a great idea to require couples to sign a prenuptial agreement before marriage. Some strong points supporting this statement are listed below.
1) It's always a good idea to have a prenuptial agreement in case of divorce. It's wrong to think that it won't happen. 11% of the U.S. population is currently divorced. 1 in 4 marriages end in divorce. Statistics show that divorce is very common in the U.S. It would make much sense to require prenuptial agreement to save couples more stress and argument than is necessary.
2) Many feel that prenuptial agreement is bad luck, setting the marriage up for divorce, or ruining the romance. By requiring a prenuptial agreement you can still claim what is rightfully yours and still be optimistic about your marriage.
3) In my opinion Prenuptial agreement is great because it distributes processions to who rightfully own them before marriage and it makes a lot of sense. It acts as a great insurance and makes things much easier in the event of a divorce.
For these reasons I believe making it compulsory for couples to sign a prenuptial agreement before marriage would be beneficial to everyone involved in the situation.
