Halloween is coming and you want your guests to be spooked. Here are some tested tips that will help you throw the scariest, best Halloween Party ever!
INVITATIONS
Invite people early. People want to go out for Halloween and will make other plans if you wait too long. Send out an email 3 weeks before letting people know that you will be having a party and the date, then 2 weeks before send out the official Evite.
COSTUMES
Require people to wear costumes and include the dress code on the invitation. At the party, have a costume contest and give out prizes (best costume, most creative, scariest costume)
MUSIC
Make a couple of mix CDs that combine popular music, Halloween themed songs, and scary sound effects.
FOOD
Serve lots of individual snack foods like chips, veggies & dip, cupcakes, etc. that are spread out around the party. This will help from having everyone crowd around one food area. Also consider putting bowls of candy around the party, nothing says Halloween like candy. Another tip is to decorate cupcakes with orange icing and black spider rings.
DRINKS
Make sure to include both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Your best bet is an alcoholic punch as you can pre-make lots and store the extra in the fridge for quick refills. Soft drinks are always a good non-alcoholic option.
DECORATIONS
Cover tables in black garbage bags and trim edges with sparkly Halloween garland. Sprinkle the tops of the tables with Halloween confetti.
Use Halloween Scene Setters to cover the walls. These are well priced and make decorating a breeze.
To decorate your ceiling, consider getting Halloween Danglers. These are individual swirls with witches, tombstones, ghosts, and bats on the end of them. They look great and are reasonably priced.
