A low-carb diet is a very vague diet. Most dieters out there in 'time to lose weight' land view low carb as in few breads or pastas or sweets. Those categories are heavy in carbohydrates, however, many other food groups have carbohydrates. Not eating anything except celery and water would be the unsafe method of dieting.
Meats, vegetables, and especially fruits have carbs. Cutting out some of the groups like breads and pastas would not hurt a thing. There is still a substantial amount of carbohydrates in the other food groups like meats, veggies, and fruits which also supply natural sugars that are easier to burn off, calorically speaking, as opposed to those hard to shake sugary carbohydrates. The body stores the nutrients from carbs thinking that it will need energy for the future to burn. Silly body. Carbs just taste good.
If an individual wishes to lose weight, less carb intake is one helpful way to do so, along with adequate exercise and even supplementary vitamins. The body will simply feed off the fat cells that the body already has stored from those carbs already taken in, which is the body weight that the hefty dieter probably wishes to shed.
Less carbs is fine, just like proportional meals and regular exercise; but not just for weight loss, a healthy body equals a healthy mindset and view towards life while boosting energy. Diet right and have fun in the life you're given.
