This is likely off the beaten path, because I am certain there is a multitude of advice available for emergency preparedness in regard to "natural" disasters, particularly now. There are many protective measures being implemented for planes, borders, and more. However, I am a firm believer in preemptive training. One way this can be accomplished is through a deeper examination of our visceral responses and warnings; aka: gut feelings. I have read that life really resides in our colon, which makes this gut response a tiny bit easier to understand. We need to place more value on the innate ability of a human being to "smell" and perceive the subtle changes in their environment, alerting them to a change that might negatively impact their future, as well as the future of others. For example, if you think back to a time when you knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, you should not do some specific thing, ride in a specific vehicle, take a ride with a specific person, get involved in a specific relationship (but did one of these things anyway), you will remember you had a "gut feeling" that initially warned you, but perhaps ignored it. Many times you probably had this gut feeling and did NOT ignore it, and found out later, you were preserved in a small or large way. Some people refer to this as a mother's instinct, yet healthy police officers often possess this same skill in a big way. It is an ideal, visceral, sometimes life-saving response to fluctuations in our environment that I believe are science-based, despite the fact that I am also a Christian. In addition, I believe this is the reason police officers often utilize psychics, despite the fact they are not always entirely accurate. I believe that this skill is in direct correlation to the non-local theory, and I heard that Einstein was working on this shortly before his demise, but it apparently frightened him. I find this an exciting concept to explore, but I am not a physicist, just a woman with acutely developed instincts. If we can attend to our most visceral responses, I believe we can not only prepare for emergencies in new and creative ways, we can also preempt many of them.
