The purpose of a low-carb diet, is to eliminate harmful, or unhealthy, carbohydrates, from one's daily consumption! Simply by cutting back on sugar, or not eating it at all, will contribute significantly, to lowering one's cholesterol and one's weight!
A low-carb diet is perfectly safe and if adhered to properly, can be safer and healthier, than other diets available to us right now. In fact, some people look upon a low-carb diet, as the only diet!
A low-carb diet opens our eyes to the dangers of sugar and white flour, both of which, are found in most grab and go' foods. By disciplining ourselves and substituting the harmful foods, with more protein, will teach us, that there is more to the word diet', than we think.
A diet should be a way of life, rather than a restriction! Once the simple guidelines of a low-carb diet are understood, then one can eat freely and healthier! Initially, there are certain vitamins that must be taken; As to start this diet, one must eliminate most, if not all carbohydrates, from the menu altogether! It is necessary to discipline the body, and as we withdraw from the addictive and harmful foods, that we were used to consuming, the vitamins will supplement our metabolisms, during that process.
After the initiation period of the low-carb diet, one can start to introduce more natural forms of carbohydrates, as are found in most fresh vegetables and fruit. Eventually, this diet will create a healthy balance and one can be free from the perils of the junk food aisles, canned food products and quick and easy meals.
