Everyone seems to get the wrong idea about this. Who knows, maybe I myself may have the wrong perspective on this but the way I see it is a civil union is the same as a marriage except heterosexuals won't let us carry insurance on one another, have rights to how our partner should be buried, or to be recognized as a family.

Everyone says that homosexuals should not be able to marry but they let us live together, love together, and dream together. What is the big deal about letting us marry when my promise I made to my life partner is the same that you made to your husband or wife? There is no difference in it. We both believe in God and our salvation is in our own hands. We stood out one night in front of God and promised to love, cherish, honor and obey one another in sickness and in health as long as we lived. I wear a wedding band and engagement ring as any other woman would. I am as faithful a partner as should be. To me, in my heart we are wed. I promised God however that I would uphold my duties as a woman, to bear children. My partner and I are trying hard on that. That is what I want, my partner wants, and what I feel God wants me to do. We will live as a happy family should, productive and such.

Everyone also seems to think that marriage is such great bond between a man and a woman. If that is true, then why is the divorce rate so high? I honestly think that marriage for straight people should be just as hard to receive as a union between two homosexual life partners. If it was a little harder then the people that weren't in it for the long hall would realize that before they even got married. You think it is so easy to judge how we should live. Do you think it would be fair for someone to say well you can't marry this woman because you have been divorced? Or you can't marry because you have fornicated before you were married? How about someone say, well this person has committed lust in his heart so he cannot marry this woman? It isn't right and lots of marriages aren't even sacred as though they should be. Everyone blames problems on homosexuals but they don't realize that it happens with straight couples too.

I honestly think that a civil union is a marriage already. It just so happens that most people are so afraid of what they can't explain they rebel against it. If straight people can't accept the fact that a homosexual marriage can be just as much of a bond as a marriage between a husband and a wife then that makes them narrow minded.
