They mean to say we are less than perfect. Why are we less than perfect? Because we suffer from the result of sin. What is sin? It is the rebellion in all of us that seeks to separate us from our maker. It can manifest itself in an infinite amount of ways, but can only be removed by one...LOVE.
No Greater Love Than This
That a man would lay down his life for his friends. And my friend, I am here to tell you that God is your friend, and He did exactly that for you. Although you were put in a situation that was seemingly impossible to overcome, He made it possible to overcome it. Jesus came from heaven, off His throne, so that you might accept the gift that is available to all who would believe. The gift of forgiveness all wrapped up in a shiny box of love. He died for you. He died for me...personally. I know it takes faith, but understand that for this very reason you hurt in the first place. A previous article stated that Jesus loved her like He had loved the sinners when He walked the earth. Why did He love the sinners? Because they were the sick and the sick know they need a physician. But I will take it one step further. God is omnipotent right? He has power over everything. We lay in bed at night questioning all the suffering in the world and in our own lives. We might ask, How can God be loving and allow all this to happen? But we must understand that we have free will. We have the power to choose. We can accept God or reject Him. It is our own choice, He will not force us to love Him.
But What If....
God placed these obstacles in your life for the very purpose of drawing you to Him. What if all your struggles with alcohol were there to get you to understand that you need Him? That you need forgiveness? That the only place to get this forgiveness was through Him? Sure, you can train yourself to think positively and you could make up a higher power through your own intuitive imagination, but would it be real? Would it be life altering?
What Was Real For Me
I know I may sound presumtious to have these answers. I also know that many are turned off by what I am saying because of how God is represented by us sinners who make up the church. Us....hypocrites. Lets focus on the message though, and not the messenger, for the message is perfect and true while the messenger...well, is fallible.
I struggled with alcohol, drugs, depression for many years. I spent 2 years of what should have been finishing college, to trying to stay alive in rehab. At times it seemed promising.
