A good honeymoon destination provides a romantic backdrop. What you need is a beautiful location. This is why beaches are perfect. My husband and I honeymooned on Tybee Island, off the coast of Savannah, Georgia. The weather was perfect and the scenery beautiful. We were able to go on romantic walks by the beach (which was surprisingly un-crowded), watch dolphins swimming, and spend quality time together.

On your honeymoon, you should be focused on each other. Pick a location that is not completely remote, but where you don't feel obligated to go sightseeing. There should be enough town that you can go out to eat together, but it should be a simple enough place that you don't feel guilty if you don't do very much.

Another concern is your budget. It is better to go to a cheaper, but nice, honeymoon destination. For example, if you're in the southern states go to Tybee. If you live in England, consider Cornwall. On your honeymoon you are busy getting to know each other as husband and wife. Save more exotic, expensive vacations for later (maybe an anniversary) when you will appreciate them more.
