Nailed to a cross...

They have nailed me to a cross,
But it is only flesh and bones that's lost,
Spirit of love lives ever on,
They can kill me but my light will still shine on...
Nailed to a cross.

I have walked the lonely path,
Many have turned their backs on me and not looked back...
Such love I've had...
I gave it freely and they took but they did not give back...
Nailed to a cross.

My loved ones hid;
Afraid to stand with me for fear they would be killed...
I understand...
What I went through I had to do it was the master plan...
Nailed to a cross.

My daughters did not know...
Shadows of darkness kept them from my side, it was beyond control;
They are now here...
In spirit and I have nothing to fear...
Nailed to a cross.

On my knees, I prayed to you,
Cause only you could know what I was going through,
The Spirit left, I was alone,
Oh Father must I drink this cup? Thy will be done...
Nailed to a cross.
