Simply put, Superman. In such a world as we live when two powerful men become enraged with one another it seems that life can stop or at least in the city of Metropolis. Hailing from the dark city of Gotham with it's sick and demented evil men comes a man who keeps his own pain letting it surface through rage. his name is Bruce and he thinks he's a bat. The loss of his parents spiraled him into a life that he couldn't control nor wanted. Superman, composed of steel, traveling the winds of metropolis protects his home city with an iron hand. When the two of them meet, by whichever circumstances it is,then the final fight for one of them is at hand. Batman using his intellect to outwit the man from krypton eludes him for a time moving in and out of the dark places. Superman bides his time as he has done in the past with other enemies. In the end, alone and broken, Batman lies limp. Superman, on his knees, weeps into his hands. The Batman is dead. However, the fight could have gone another way. Batman with his intellect could have found a way to blot out the sun. But then he would have to trap Superman with kryptonite. The only problem with that is that Superman isn't ignorant and again would bide his time and wait to fight. He would have no need to rush in considering the fact that Batman wouldn't be doing harm to innocents.
There is the comic book version though. Superman, being so compassionate, helps a beautiful woman which turns out to be Poison Ivy. She kisses him for his kindness and entraps him with her poison. Under her control superman begins to wage war for this woman. Years before, Superman gave Batman a ring with a kryptonite jewel in it. By the end of the comic Batman had Superman on his knees pounding him with the ring. When it was over Batman had to cast his hand. Every bone had been broken from the blows. Oh yeah, Superman lived. So, in some sort of pseudo reality, unless Superman were to give up or forfeit then no mortal man would defeat him not even one that considers himself a bat.
There is one more thing that I can't get out of my head. Clark Kent always goes into a phone booth or whatever it may be and takes of his suit. Of course hidden under it is his Superman tights. My question. . . Where does he keep his boots? Any man with the power to hide shiny, red, leather boots from all eyes cannot be taken easily. Maybe he keeps them all phone booths. Maybe that's how Batman would defeat him. He could just find his boots and make him fight in loafers.
