Feminism is outdated! The movement came on and corrected a lot of situations by bringing changes in law and policies throughout the land. For instance: The act of discrimination in hiring practices has improved to the point that it appears to be blended into way business is accomplished. It hasn't disappeared but 100% penetration by broad based movements like feminism have seldom been achieved.
One major hole in the dike has been the inequality of women's wages - they are still drastically behind men doing the same work. I honestly don't know how an employer can sleep at night with such an obvious disparity at work in the workplace.
Women are slowly achieving rank and stature by being promoted/selected for major CEO jobs. The progress is not as fast as many had imagined, but it still proceeds. This issue was broken loose from its mooring by court decisions and then advanced by several notable women being placed in top jobs that were very visible to the general public.
The movement is not helped by the attitude of several leaders in various factions inside feminism. Some would proceed with law suits at every turn of the wheel until some parity is achieved on any given issue. Others seem to be focused on a single issue to the detriment of all other issues.
Additionally, the failure of the movement to attract the young female college graduate and enlist their help has isolated various factions. An aging boomer population will retire over the next 10 years and the vast majority of the current leadership will leave the workplace and retire from the fray. Without the assistance of the younger female workers to take up the fight, the movement will die a natural death.
