Fishing (Other)

Fishing for relaxation.

Once upon a time, I was a fisherman with a tackle box that could have served double duty as a travel trunk. I had it all. Spinners of every kind, poppers, jigs, spoons, rubber frogs...

It was nuts! I was nuts perhaps for spending hundreds of dollars on fishing equipment I rarely ever used. Fishing to me has never been about catching fish. It has always been the sense of peace I get from sitting along the bank of beautiful tree lined lake, a cool breeze gently blowing in my face, the water sparkling with the suns golden rays.

Oh sure, I still get excited when a fish takes the bait. I enjoy the catching and releasing of a fish the same as anyone else I suspect, but its not a disappointment to me if nothing bites the whole day through. Just being out by the water reminds me to stop and take in whats really important in life. The beauty of nature itself!
