I was really moved by her singing and story,the scene of the time is still in my brain.it makes me to think the influence of a person and how to define the meaning of great.since my childhood,I have gotten different kinds of educations about how to be a good person and how to become a successful man,mostly,our textbook give us so lots of examples about great men like some outstanding leaders,heros and people who had won valuable reputation.I do accept that those great men's life can direct us to build better life and good personalities,but when we set these great men as our idols and put more attention on those movie stars,popular singers as well as cover figures,what we ignored is those common people who truely effect us.so who is the great man in your heart and how do you measure a person as a great man,it's what I want to talk today.

I do not think most of the socially recognized great men are truly worthy of their fame. Generally speaking, great men are the high-achievers in our history books. Biographies are written, movies are made, and stories are told about their life. Every pupil is encouraged to follow in their footsteps and to endeavor to become a great man, at the cost of the warmness of the heart.
Comapare with Maoyu,What a social disgrace this is! In my opinion, it is not fair to measure a person's greatness only by the yardstick of social standing. When we praise a high-achiever, aren't we forgetting to consider the nobleness of his mind and spirit of persistance?

A man noble at heart can never cheat himself and others. He can never make cunning deals to obtain success. He can not topple other's for his own benefit, However, such a man achiever. This is not fair. I have seen many people with a tender heart and a noble mind. There are many around us who are not successful, politicians, rich industrialists, or Nobel Prize winners, like our own. parents and some of our friends who are small people indeed in our society. In my estimation, it is these very people who have nurtured the feelings of compassion,love and benevolence to all humankind in my heart. I would rather respect these small people around me than the figures extolled in our history books.

Learning from great men's life but do not ignore the real great men around you,I do think I can find noble heart among our toastmaster club members,and a commom people's kindness and virtue are the beautiful guide for our life.
