I will designate the next few paragraphs to pay honor to my new favorite discount hotel, the Best Western Midtown Hotel, Sarasota Florida. The benefits of this one in particular far outweighed any of the others we stayed at, and I highly recommend it to anyone; singles, corporate travelers, groups, seniors and families alike. This hotel and its staff went above and beyond the level of pleasant. Here's how:

While both of the Best Western locations in the Sarasota, Florida area are nice, the Best Western, Midtown is definitely the better of the two. Not only that, but also its amenities and services in consideration of the prices have placed it on the very top of my entire list of discounted Sarasota hotels.

Quite frankly, the Best Western Midtown, was not much of a discount. Compared to some other hotels in the area, which charged a fee as low as approximately $75 per night, this lodging cost us a grand total of $103.99 for an evening. And this was supposedly the lowest possible rate the manager was allowed to give. I must say, though, that the way the employees went about treating my friend and I, with enormous respect, consideration and definite generosity, could've probably won us over even at the original price we were quoted ($120.99 plus taxes). When the manager noticed us leaving to seek out a cheaper hotel after this initial quote, he politely called us back. Without any feedback or pressure from us we were immediately offered this lower $103.99 rate, which he told the registering employee to file under the "Manager's Special". So a note to all future travelers planning to stay at a Best Western- it might be a wise idea to suggest this rate and see if they'll give it to you. We were told upon further casual conversation with the employees that usually this rate was only offered for individuals who book through the 800 number or Best Western website. You may want to try those avenues first, to reserve your space. But if all else fails, show up in person and if you have to name drop the "Manager's Special" hotel lingo, do so with a quizzical tone and just mention a friend referred the hotel to you just for that cheap price. Chances are you'll get it.
