Driving phobia is a crippling blade of ice that lodges itself firmly in the base of your spine and wriggles its way up to your resolve. I was petrified of driving, even as I exposed myself to more high speed situations (i.e. highways and such) and stop lights, and traffic, but what I found most helpful to me was not so much as driving experience, but driving confidence. I was terrified of my own skill in driving, even when I had become mMore experienced. I was always afraid of hitting someone, killing someone, getting honked at, you name it. But what really broke me fear was simple confidence. When that sneaky blade of ice would try and destroy my plans for driving, I would clench my teeth, crack my knuckles and challenge the road to "bring it on." Don't be afraid of something you KNOW you can do. The only help you're going to get is going to come from within (any good therapist will tell you that, I know mine did). Beat your fears, and KNOW that you can do it. Because in reality, you can. Be safe out there.
