AS THE DAY BEGAN
As the day began,
the morning sun filtered through
the trees and caught you.
Waiting for the bus to take you to your
very first day of school.
you had a lunchbox in one hand and a smile
so large on your face.
As the day grew on,
so did you.
you learned so much,
not only from the books your read and the homework you did
But about life. About friendships.
About family. About love.
As the day ended.
a chapter of your life has been written.
you're no longer naive and innocent
But an adult.
Ready to begin the next chapter. Ready to begin a new day.
As the night waned,
a lot of mothers are crying
and fathers are gleaming with pride.
And tomorrow,
tomorrow is another day.
full of new things.
