We live because we can. Because that is how we find the highest of highs, and the lowest of lows. The sights, sounds, scents, the feel of everything around us. As spiritual beings, we can't have these senses. We have peace, harmony, unconditional love...but to truly feel, we must be weighed down in the physical of this world. We also live to learn our "lessons" faster. The lessons we learn as spirits are the same as the lessons we learn here. They are just learned faster on the earth plane. Why else do we live? Because we can. Many angels and spiritual beings never live. They never descend from the heavenly plane as life on earth is much too difficult for them to endure. I believe all of us, from any faith or religion, can recognize that an earthly life is indeed full of hardships. Even those that are blessed in this life still have to withstand a great deal of pain. But would we be anything but living to hear our newborns first cry, or to look into the eyes of our loved one? Would we be anything but living to feel the loss of a spouse of 50 years, or to have our heart broken for the very first time? We live to feel. We live to learn. We live to love. We live because we can.
