This probably isn't worth touching with a ten foot pole but here goes anyhow. In the first place, Paris Hilton's situation is of her own making. In the second place, it really isn't my business but it irritates me to see not just Paris, but all these "poor little rich kids" get away with crimes because of the family name and bank account.
Do I think Miss Hilton has "Found God" and is now going to mend her ways and do all these wonderful things for society, her fellowman. I have no way of knowing her heart, only God knows that. Maybe yes, probably no. The thing is, she is sitting in jail. She is not getting her own way and she is very used to being able to bargin and buy her way in and out of anything. Old habits are hard to break. There is this thing about it...You can plead and promise and swear up hill and down that you will mend your ways when you are stuck in an unpleasant, uncomfortable situation, and most of us do just that, but when we are no longer in that situation all those promises are very quickly forgotten. That is all part of our human element. We are looking out for good old number one. More likely than not, that is just what is going on here. We won't know until she is free again. God already knows.
Whether it is Paris Hilton, you, my next door neighbor, her next door neighbor or me...when we break the law there is consequenses to pay and according to all I've read, Miss Hilton broke the law, more than once and hasn't seemed to have learned her lessons from the experience. If you deo the crime, you're gonna do the time. That is just how it is aned eventually you're going to get caught, even if your name is Paris Hilton. I don't for one minute believe she has really changed. She's scared. She ought to be. She's feeling abused. She isn't. She's trying to find a way out of the mess she is in. Not going to happen, not her way, not on pleas and promises. I hope she serves every minute of her time because if she gets off with a lighter punishment she isn't going to learn. The next time she has partied to hardy and is driving drunk it may just cost someone's life and probably not hers. She needs to lose a few of her priviledges and freedoms for a time and consider the consequenses of her actions. Freedom comes at a very high price and Freedom can not be bought with money or false promises. It is high time she and all the others among societies elite learned that the law is for everyone and no amount of money or prestege puts you above the law.
Jail time is not "Happy Camp" and isn't for any of us who have to spend time there. It isn't suppose to be. Does she deserve to be there? Absolutely. She broke the law and the penelty for the law she broke is jail time. Just because Miss Hilton was born among the priviledged does not give her the right or priviledge of breaking the law.
Has she learned anything from this? Maybe, maybe not, I have my doubts. Has she found God? I don't know. Did she even look for God or is this just another ploy of the "poor little rich girl" to get her own way. You can't bargain with God because God already knows what is in your heart. I hope she has and I hope she means it heart and soul, but then, haven't we all heard this song before?
