Poetry: Purity

by Linda Ann Nickerson

Created on: June 14, 2007

PURE

I wish my heart were ever pure,
My mind and thoughts untainted,
Except this world and its allure
My attitude have painted.

My focus shifts from right to wrong
And often in-between.
I'd rather carry Heaven's song
And worship the Unseen.

This mortal frame, it drags me down,
Though destiny is sure.
I'll leave this desolate ghost town;
Till then, Lord, keep me pure!
