Who makes the best friends men or women? That has been a long debate over the years. I believe the answer to be "both". Men and women both have certain qualities that make them good friends. I think a better question would be is "Who is a better friend to you?"; instead of "Who makes better friends, men or women?" It all depends on the person themselves, not what sex they are.

Women for instance have many great qualities that can make them good friends. A woman will listen to what you have to say and are great at giving advice. A woman is a nurturer by heart and will always have a shoulder for you to cry on. Although, women are amazing people, there are mischievous ones out there too. Women can be vindictive and will tend to stab their best friends in the back.

As for men, they also have many wonderful things about them that make them good friends. A man is someone you can always trust to keep a secret. They also tend to be very protective, especially to their female friends and you can trust them to help you out in a serious situation. But men also tend to forget plans that you might have made together or might not be sensitive when you need them to be.
There are many qualities you should see in someone whose a good friend.

1. Are they there for you when you need them to be?
2. Do they stand up for you when no one else will?
3. Do you feel that you can talk to them about anything?
4. Do you trust them with all your heart?

These are a just few ways to realize if your friend is really your friend or if they are just along for the ride. True friends are just a dime a dozen. If you are lucky enough to have a decent friend, make sure that you are as good a person to them as they are to you.
