The United States should remove China's privileged trade status.

When the pet food recalls began, the finger was pointed at China. I thought when I saw the media attention this issue was receiving on a daily basis, the problem was much wider than initially thought. Most recently, the public has been told that there were poisonous chemicals found in some brands of toothpaste that originated from China. With our FDA's limited resources, odds are that there are a large number of other imported items from China that contain potentially harmful chemicals. The number of recalled products continues to grow to include more pet food and who knows what is around the corner.

American businesses are losing out also as a result of the huge number of imported products coming by way of China. Our economy has suffered enough. I want to see our economy turned around and I think that if we were to make changes with China's trade status, that is a start.

Walmart, one of the wealthiest companies around carries so many products imported from China. I began shopping there as a result of lower grocery prices in my area, but due to the number of products coming from China, Walmart will be losing my business.

Stop the madness and get rid of China's privileged trade status now.
