Todays youth has been forced to grow up faster living in todays society. They no longer lead the sheltered upbringing of children from past generations. Instead they are confronted with adult issues and given higher expectations than they would previously have been given. For that reason, todays youth is ready for the challenges of tomorrow.

Life is getting easier, with technology advancing at a startling rate. This has allowed us more time to do other things and learn so much more than we would have had time for previously. This has also given todays youth a head start. Instead of learning new technologies in university or beyond, they are growing up with it. That has given them more opportunities to learn skills well beyond what even their parents often have and opened up the doors to so many new experiences. They know how to use computers, mobile phones and all other gadgets, so they are already a step ahead for the future.

There is a lot less censorship on what todays youth sees also. When nudity and violence was rare on television a decade ago, these days it is all over the place. There is very little left to the imagination these days, so there is a lot less to prepare them for in the future. This has also forced our youth to grow up faster and come to terms with issues that they should not be faced with at such young ages. But instead they are taking it on, growing up so fast and developing maturity on issues well beyond their age group. Unfortunately this has given them a head start in dealing with challenges of adult nature, such as sex, relationships and violence. They show no fear at the thought of the big, wide world ahead.

Our youth of today also have far higher expectations for their life. They do not except a long wait before they achieve success and believe they can go to college and come straight out with a great job and high pay. While this is not the case usually, they are equipped with the confidence to go far and they are usually so determined to reach their goals that they do move up fast and get where they want sooner than the slower paced earlier generations.

Of course there are exceptions to all of these examples, but in general the youth of today are go getters, with little fear and massive amounts of confidence. There is very little that comes as a surprise to them and they are ready to leap out into the world, safety net free. So I do believe that they are ready for the challenges of the future and have little doubt that they will succeed.
