It is true that one can never ever do everything for him/herself on his own without asking a second person's help.
The problem is on how to approach somebody for help. To start with, you will definitely have to be as friendly as possible, and also not try to bully somebody into helping you, but to start with a familiar phrase like: "I know you are very busy yourself, but out of everybody I know, you are the most trust worthy person to ask and I know you are always willing to help out a friend in need, so will you please, please help me with this?".
The person will immediately notice that he/she is valued by you, that's why you seek their help, and it will most probably make them feel good to know that out of all your friends, you trust him/her the most to ask for help.
Also the way ask for his/her help, will send out the message that you are really desperate, and it is important for you to actually get this specific person's help and not somebody else's.
