Have you ever wondered why advertisers are willing to pay bloggers to write posts about their sites. Sure they may expect a bit of extra traffic that may be generated by the blogs but I don't believe this is the real reason.
The real reason is can be summed up in one word. Google! I believe it's all to do with gaining the best search engine position possible. After all this is where the real traffic will come from. Why else do they ask posters to use specific keywords and many advertisers offer the same task with different keywords.
Knowing that this may well be true, you would think that many bloggers would be willing to swap reviews as a form of link swapping. Sure you won't get the prized one way links but then it's a free service that is being offered and one that all bloggers should make use of. It's better than having a huge blogroll and also come in handy for using them as filler posts between paid posts. I have been doing reviews for awhile ans have noticed a marked increase in my Technorati ranking as well as a greater number of visitors. As an SEO tactic, it's one I recommend to all bloggers.
