Life,I know is what you make it. I am making this statement with conviction and feelings because, this, is what I have experienced throughout my life to date. There are no quick fixes to happiness, you cannot find it through other people or material possessions. True happiness is when you know who you are, like yourself and, feel comfortable in your own skin.
During my teens to early twenties I ,(along with many others), believed that I could change the world. However, as I got older, if not wiser, I realized that I couldn't. Along the way I made a lot of mistakes, [like most people] in relationships and made choices and decisions, for better or worse in all areas of my life.
As time went by, going through the process of living and experiencing everything that life throws at us from: ordinary day to day, truly amazing, high drama, sorrow, loss, milestone, achievements, scary and frightening to life changing. I started to learn about myself on every level of my own personality, about 'me' which isn't always easy because sometimes you have to take off the blindfold and look at things you don't want to see, especially if its nasty, and acknowledge them about yourself. However, as time went by this enabled me to grow and learn and in many cases improved not only my relationships but, also my interpersonal and communication skills with people that are a part of my life.
Sharing life experiences with the many individuals who came in and out of my life, for whatever reasons. I was always questioning myself, seeking ways of improving and understanding reasons, time and again why?, this' or that' outcome of whatever was happening in my life at that particular time. Therefore, I began to take responsibility for my own actions, which was a turning point in my life. I could make a list of lessons I have learned in life but, it would be long and boring and, because as humans we share many of the same thoughts about lessons in life, if you are digging deep within yourself' you will know where I am coming from.
The best part of knowing who I am came when I realized experience has taught me that I must follow my intuition and instincts about most things in life that affect me; about understanding, about acceptance, about when family, friends or loved ones need to be left to their own devices to deal with their life and, when they might need support, encouragement or a boost.
Putting things into perspective, my life has come kind of full circle. I know that I rule my destiny. From my experiences past and present, I have learnt many life lessons and, I am continually learning and discovering things about life and living, because our life is is like a river, always moving, constantly changing, never standing still..
That fate' and destiny' steps in sometimes and change our plans and our life, also plays a large part in how we grow and develop as individuals and human beings. I have released the power within me', so my life is more balanced and kind of level right now.
We make our life what we want it to be when we make choices and decisions that will ultimately influence and change the course our life for ever.
