We have reached a point where civil liberties surpass the rights of the victims, or should I say...potential victims? Gitmo serves the purpose it was designed for; to keep mindless murderers in confinement. Do we not value human life that is innocent of wrongdoing? We did not simply catch these rabid animals just hanging out on the street. frankly, I'm surprised that we have let some go free. I stand corrected, but have we not turned right around and found some of these fanatics back amongst the insurgency? The very same conspirators guilty of the most heinous of crimes against innocent lives?

If by chance we discover that some of these 'people' were incarcerated wrongfully, then all that should be done to make restitution should be done. In all likelihood, this occurrence will be remote, but it is not out of the question. Nevertheless, when will people realize that setting an example of compassion and civility amongst ruthless killers does not serve to provide a degree of pliability to their inflexible mindsets. They understand one thing and one thing only; America is the cause of all their problems and eradication of our society by murder is their final solution. Cultural differences are not bridged by two-way communication, only death as sanctioned by their twisted interpretation of the Koran. Let us treat them humanely and they will no doubt understand our perspective and we will all become fast friends.

The only other viable option I can see is to reopen Devil's Island if it has been relinquished by the French. A bunk made of palm leaves and permit them to survive on what they grow themselves. Short of that, slow starvation would not be objectionable in my opinion. Evil exists in the world. Gitmo provides a glimpse into its animated form.
