Darkness
You hide my sorrow,
Hide my pain,
Hide my tears,
When I'm down again,
you cover my eyes,
When I've seen enough,
Kept me company,
When the world has called my bluff,
Held my hand,
when things seem so unreal,
Kept my dreams alive,
And held fast when I renege on our deal,
Dark and lonely,
but only for awhile,
Hide my imperfections,
protecting me like a mother protects child,
Your mysteries remain safe
here in my heart as always you see,
No matter how alone I am,
I'll always have you here with me...
