I vote neither yes or no, on the subject of closing down Getmo. However, I would like to present one problem that I see, based from experience, if the base were to be shut down. Where would the prisoners go? Would we house them in the overcrowded penitentiary system within the borders of our nation, or shall we ask neighboring or even allied nations to house "our" prisoners of "our" war for us?

If the situation were to present itself and the Government decided to accomodate the inmates of Guantanamo Bay, in our own federal correctional facilities, we then assist in the poential growth for "terrorism" within our penal colonies.
There is a profound wealth of knowledge within the walls of a correctional institution; though it not be that of tradition and practicality, it is knowledge. A kowledge that when shared with the right or wrong individual could cause catastrophic events to dwarf those of the September Eleventh bombings. Do not forget that within the walls of these very institutions lie the degenerated products of society, who quite possibly share in the same disdainful tastes for America as the so-called victims of Guantanomo Bay.

On the matter of asking for assistance from foreing allies, well as it has been postulated, Americas popularity is not of the greatest caliber in the world, and who else would want to take on such a daunting and destructive task, in relation to international popularity. Any nation now, wheather involved in the war or just a political ally to our nation would be joining, if not replacing us on the gallows if they were to take the reigns of housing the POW's in Cuba. It would be difficult indeed to "con,"(*ahem*) I mean, request a transfer of these prisoners into foreign soil for the remainder of their undetermined sentences, especially with the media attention on them at present.
