Youth
Did you hope strong it would wax ever?
Did you hope sight would dim never?
Did you dream limbs would carry fast ever?
Did you wish Eros would boom ever?
Did that area promise failure never?
Did you wish slow thinking never?
Did you doubt fast decline ever?
Awake from youth whilst youth abides
For quickly it often doth reside
And mindful not are legion
Who soon cry, grasping
With flailing hope
At regaining
The wasted
The spent
The nostalgic
The lost forever.
Catch it
Embrace it
Kiss it
Squeeze the very life out of it.
You own it but for a while
Own it with pride.
Youth.
