The Cyber Exotic

Born to flesh and weakness
We turn our backs on our mother's milk
Seeking the digital dream
We cut the wires in our mind

Who can walk
On the cut glass of yesterday
We must press forward
Into the digital dream

Replace the veins
With streams of data
Replace the eyes
With cameras
Whose images never are lost
Replace the brain with metal
Hot as anger's flash
Replace the sex with dreaming
Dreaming the digital dream

Born anew in metal
Wires for our bones
We speak now in stereo
Pure unaltered tones

We await the nanites
To carry us beyond
The futures is a rhythm
Pulsing pulsing in time

Replace the veins
With streams of data
Replace the eyes
With cameras
Whose images never are lost
Replace the brain with metal
Hot as anger's flash
Replace the sex with dreaming
Dreaming the digital dream
