As to why the U.S. government has a base on "enemy" soil, well I don't know. Why imprison people for years on end with no trial is beyond me also. They need to prove that the people are guilty first anyway. It seems a stalling tactic. The so called war on terrorism to me is a joke. Sure, terrorism is a real threat and not to be ignored but paranoia does not help either. The great policeman of the world needs to sort the problems in his own jurisdiction first before meddling in the affairs of the world. Oddly enough it is only for their own financial interests that get them involved. I am convinced that if Kuwait had no oil, the coalition would not have been formed. Kuwait would have more than likely become an Iraqi province.
I am not anti American at all. I'm just a concerned citizen of the world.
Back to the point. The people in Guantanamo Bay should be transferred to an institution on real American soil. It's almost like they are being hidden away.
