Climbing the social ladder

You see, i have never read any better advice or admonition on getting to the top, climbing the social ladder than the one that was given over 2000 years ago by a Jew more than half of the world's population follows. He said in very simple words, "Do unto others as you'll have them do to you".

Your way to the top will be a common sense direction of your own attitude and approach to life. From my own little experience, you have to believe in God, in yourself and in your ability to bring positive changes to those around you or in your circle of influence, through the vehicles of love, tolerance, wisdom and self/mutual respect.

Yeah i know some of these prevalent 'expert' opinions work to some extent, you shouldn't live your life by them. Just imagine the quantum of sorrow a lot of parents, community and nations are going through by accepting the advice of Dr. Spock on child raising. He himself bemoaned the monumental error he had caused the world on his death bed.

And it may be a trap to want to keep moving up and up while actually you're moving in a cycle! What i mean by that is that success, attainment, social recognition are relative to each person's definition of them. To Dr. Ben Carson, it's the ability to help people live a better life through surgery. To Rev. Jesse Jackson, it's the emancipation of repressed or depressed people to achieve their goals. For Bill Gates, it's empowering millions of people to have access to better ways of getting solutions through the PC and internet.

So, no matter your calling, the enduring way to the top has always remained the same - hardwork, vision, dedication to a goal that's not selfish but to the general good of humanity in any area we might choose to make a difference. And as we climb up that ladder, we need to be good to those we meet along the way by treating them as we would like people to treat us.
