I give my vote to Venom.
As a person who did not read the comic books but saw the movie, I strongly prefer Venom over Spiderman.
In spite of my personal dislike of the movie, there are several reasons why Venom would win.

First of all, Venom has much less emotional burden than Spiderman. Venom does not worry about anyone. All he has is his physical condition. He wins or loses for his strength. His goal is to win, to win for himself.

Spiderman is weaker in this regard because of MJ and because of his indecisive characteristic. He questions too much. He is not confident enough.

Secondly, Venom is an alien. Spiderman is a human on earth. That is, Spiderman has human flaws. He gets tired. Venom is more unpredictable for an alien can be anything and can do anything. Venom appears so energetic and goal-oriented. Spiderman is generous and easy to be distracted.

One more reason of mine is that the weak point of Venom has nothing to do with his ability to fight. As seen in the movie, the loud metal sound is Venom's jinx. If they did not fight in the building under construction, Venom could have won. If they fought on the beach, Venom could have won. Yes, the beach! Sandman would have become so powerful and a much greater helper.

Venom would win over Spiderman.
