If you need to persuade someone to do something for you then it helps if you are in the position where they already owe you a favor. It will help you to put yourself in that position if you are not already there by doing something for them first if possible. This way they will feel obliged to return the favor.
Most people will be willing to do something for you if you can make them see that it will benefit them personally in some way. If the favor that you want doing doesn't affect the other person directly then you could offer to do something for them in return.
Sometimes just being polite and friendly will be enough to persuade the other person to help you. Smiling can make all the difference between a positive response and a negative one.
Offering to pay to get something done, if you are able to do so, will generally get you the help that you require. It's also more dignified than begging and pleading!
