Why people cheat

The very simple, though unpopular reason people cheat is because they are lacking in something inside themselves. It's not about sex as so many people wrongly assume.
The cheater simply lacks something in their make up that allows them to build the kind of intimacy that prevents cheating.
This is such a highly debated topic because we choose to build little safe houses of lies to comfort ourselves that it could never happen to us. For example, if a man cheats on a woman that belongs to a social group, many of her associates will think, well if she had kept herself better, or taken care of her needs, that would not have happened. Then they go home and check off that they are doing those things as "affair prevention".
The fact of the matter is that the cheater is "broken" and there is nothing the other spouse could have done or not done to prevent it.
