Welcome to unemployment! You must be unemployed because when you are employed unemployment is not that funny. I remember when I was employed and the thought of losing my job scared me to no bounds. Now, after a month in the job searching pool I just find it funny.

I am a college student and I need a summer job to rake in some dough. So, I put up a resume on a job search website. I enter for all the jobs I can and then sit and wait.

First e-mail is for a job as a dish washer: "I'm sorry you do not have the experience for this job." A dish washer? Please...How hard is to teach me to wash some dishes? I can do it now: Here is some soap and this is the sink and you take a dish and you scrub soap on it with this rag, then rinse, dry, repeat. Hmmm...not too hard.

I like how this one place that needed a greeter and paper filer to the employment office turned their rejection into an opportunity. "We do not have a place for you with your skills. Did you know we are one of the largest employment offices in the country? We are holding your file and if you come by we can help you find a job." I need a job, not to pay you to find me one. And do I really want to come over there to pay you to give me a file that I can't get anyone else to look at? No thank you.

Oh, well, I will find that job that is for me soon enough.
